Some days we are better than others

Someone said this to me recently and I thought it the simplicity of it was quite beautiful. “Some days we are better than others”. Not, “Some days are better than others”, but “we” are better on some days. It made it so clear that it is natural and normal to not be the best every day. I think it would be really cool if people came with a label on them somewhere, saying “Some days I am better than others”. No apologies necessary.
If you can give yourself permission not to be perfect every day, then you help me in giving myself the permission not to be perfect every day. And in our imperfectness, we can truly meet each other.
From this total okay-ness comes space for re-dedication, but with room for error. If we continually re-dedicate ourselves and feel like we’ve done something ‘wrong’, we feel like we’ve lost our way. Instead, we can try to re-dedicate ourselves expecting mistakes to be part of that path.
“I know that I may make mistakes, I know that I may feel lost, but I am here offering myself, choosing to keep getting up and to keep doing my best.”
I think that wish is really powerful.
I don’t think we need to question days where we don’t feel 100%, or analyse why we’re not on top form all the time. There’s no conclusion, or epiphany we need to reach to finally understand it all and then we’ve ‘got it’.
We are natural beings, and naturally, like the weather...some days we are better than others. Adéle x
